During the summer (May – September), when temperature in Zagreb gets as high as 35'c, you can relax and take a swim in one of the two beautiful lakes in Zagreb- Jarun and Bundek. Jarun lake offers the best nightlife & clubs in Zagreb, and during the day you can sunbath on one of the terraces of many Jarun's bars & clubs.

You can also check out smaller, but newly renovated and very nice Bundek Lake located in New Zagreb and visit nearby Museum of Contemporery Art and Avenue Mall on the way. One day you can opt for hiking on Zagreb's mountain Sljeme which is a popular escape destination from hot summer for most of the locals an a lot of tourists.

A very popular destination to take a day trip to are the world famous Plitvice Lakes! You can book a trip in our hostel! If you need more info just ask at the reception! There are also many other day trips you can do from Zagreb as a visit to Trakoscan castle, rafting on Mreznica river or visiting Krapina museum.

During the winter (December – February) you can go skiing or snowboarding on Zagreb's mountain Sljeme. It only takes around 20 min by tram to get from the city center to the mountain. From that point you have to take a bus or a chairlift to get to the top of the mountain. Zagreb is the only capital city that hosts World Championship Skiing Race, also known as Snow Queen Trophy.

Since Zagreb is very green city with lots of green surfaces, you can also enjoy a break from the hectic traveler's life by visiting one of many Zagreb's parks. Zagreb's oldest and most beautiful park is Maksimir park, situated only 10 min by foot from our Funk Lounge hostel. It's the oldest park in southeast Europe and equally popular with the locals during the winter as well as the summer.
